1. Via the board link: Share the board link (or QR code) with players. They click the link, enter their name, and start picking squares. No account required!
2. Via join code: If SMS is enabled, players can text a simple join code to opt in and receive updates.

Only the board creator needs an account. All players can participate as guests, making it super easy for everyone to join.

Numbers are randomly assigned automatically by our system. When a player selects a square, they receive a random number combination (0-9 for home team, 0-9 for away team).

This ensures complete fairness - no one can choose "better" numbers because all assignments are random. The system uses cryptographically secure random number generation to guarantee fairness.

Once assigned, numbers are locked and cannot be changed, ensuring the integrity of the pool.

Winners are determined by the last digit of each team's score at the end of each quarter:

• End of Q1: Match the last digit of the score (e.g., Home 7, Away 4 if score is 17-24)
• End of Q2: Match the last digit of the halftime score
• End of Q3: Match the last digit of the third quarter score
• End of Q4: Match the last digit of the final score (or end of regulation)

This creates four winners per game, keeping excitement high throughout the entire game. Some boards also offer a "final winner" option that includes overtime scores.
