How does the team generator split people into teams?

Paste your names, one per line, and press Generate. The tool shuffles the list with secure randomness. When you pick a number of teams it deals everyone out evenly, so team sizes differ by at most one person. When you set players per team it fills teams of that size and the last team takes whoever is left.

Can I set the number of teams or players per team?

Both. Switch between 'Number of teams' to fix how many teams you get, or 'Players per team' to fix the size of each team and let the tool work out how many teams that makes.

Is the team split random and fair?

Yes. The shuffle uses your browser's cryptographically secure random source, so every arrangement is equally likely. Your list stays on your device and is never uploaded. Press Generate again for a fresh split.
